Why this competition exists
The Amstel Dance Trophy is an international dance event where passion, elegance and craftsmanship come together. We believe in the power of dance as a language that brings people together, whatever their background or level.
The aim is to raise ballroom and Latin dance culture to a higher level and to create an event that draws both entrants and spectators into the world of dance. Amateurs, professionals, pro-ams, juniors and seniors all get the same stage here.
Hans Kruimer, the initiator
The Amstel Dance Trophy is organised by Hans Kruimer. He is a fully FDO-qualified dance teacher and registered as an official with the FDO, the NDO and the World Dance Council. With years of experience and a wide network in the dance world, he wants to create an event that is not only a competition, but also a celebration of dance as an art form.

Under the auspices of the WDC
The competition is organised under the auspices of the World Dance Council. That guarantees an internationally recognised panel of judges with solid expertise. Dancers from other federations are very welcome to take part.
